When is the first build date for the apparently better 05 cars?

Is the PCM sat nav being DVD a guaranteed way of knowing it is an 05 car?

I'm not sure when the next year's models begin production, but my 2004 was produced in May of 2004. I believe it was pretty late in the cycle.

I also believe that a DVD-based nav system will indicate a 2005 or newer, but you can also tell by checking the VIN.

Model year breaks are usually in July.

Thanks Loren. The car I looked at was delivered sept 04 and 05 model year.

My 05 is delivered in July 04 and has a DVD PCM.

Wow, so MY05 starts mid 04. When people say buy an 05 car, they mean MY05 right, so in fact cars from mid 04 are fine...

When people say "model year" they are speaking of the model year per the car's VIN - even though the car may have been built in the previous calendar year.
