Hi,

I have a 2002 boxster S and recently the rear trunk/ hatch release button stopped working. I can open the rear trunk with my key, but the buttons inside the car do not work, is this a fuse problem? Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Betty

Does the front hood switch still work? Has anything sticky been spilled on or around the buttons recently? Does it still illuminate at night? It sounds like just that switch might be broken or sticking. Try wiggling the switch back and forth a little bit and pushing it kind of harder than normal (but not too hard) to see if opens...

If it's electronic, I had the same problem with the front hood. I just pressed down on all of the relays that are by the fuse panel and that seems to have fixed it.

My 2002 Boxster had a similar problem with the front lid. Was a bad actuator. In fact the bad actuator caused an open circuit so my battery kept draining overnight unless I locked the doors. Somehow this closed the circuit. When I hit the buttons to open the lid I could hear a clicking noise but no release.
