Anyone know if Porsche sells the oil filter wrench, that is required to remove the plastic oil filter cover now located in the engine bay? I would like to know if it came in the aluminum metal as did the 996 ones that they sold at the dealer.

Loren do you have the part number for the new filter wrench or know the size hex needed to remove the filter.

Loren, I have that oil filter wrench for the 996 and others, but the new design for the 2009 facelift 997's have a larger oil filter housing and also the hex mold on it, like the ones you find on BMW's the 996 oil filter wrench will not fit.

Being that this is a 997.2 forum... i believe the plastic filter housing is a 36mm. i bought a 36mm axle socket at my local pep boys for $9 and it works like a charm with my torque wrench.
