Good afternoon,

I recently bought a 2006 Cayenne S in PA and live in MD. MD requires front license plates and PA does not. The dealer shipped me the kit. It seems like it's fairly simply but I'm hoping someone might have a template or some advice before I go about drilling screws into the front bumper.

Thanks, Steve

Steve, congrats on the Cayenne S. Did you get a fix it ticket? I live in California where front license plates are law as well. I plan on driving as long as I can without drilling those holes on my '06! My wife's '08 came from the dealer with the plate mounted...but we still don't have the California plate; she has a Porsche plate.

Alright... I really need to get the front plate mounted but I am still a bit nervous. It just seems like the one the dealer gave me sticks out way too far off the bumper. It made me think that maybe they gave me the wrong one. I tried looking at several pictures of ones for sale on line and it also makes me think its sticking out too far. It has some stand offs that connect to the bumper and it looks like there will be almost a two inch gap between the bumper and the rear edge of the plate holder that will be exposed. This can't be right.

There is a number stamped into the back:

7L5 807 287 P

Can anyone confirm this is indeed the correct front plate mounting kit for a 2006 Cayenne S? Any other suggestions on how to mount it to ensure it looks proper and is correctly positioned?

Thanks, Steve
