So this is a picture of the part, item no 996 110 129 52 (VENT)

It comes from passenger side of throttle body, over the throttle body and along the drivers side intake. There is an electrical connection and this little bugger clicks constantly...

Anyone know if it is an idication of something not working right or what causes this? I imagine that it is supposed to actuate, but seems to be over reacting?

That is a one way valve, that probably goes to the evaporative canister system. This is how gas fumes are sucked back into the system instead of the atmosphere.

agree with the purpose, but the non-stop clicking is driving me nuts...I dont know if its normal or I have something causing this to over compensate for some other problem

It is totally normal. The same valve is used in VWs and Audis. It is interesting that you actually hear the solenoid working. There is usually too many other noices coming from the engine compartment to make it heard.
