Remove gear stick

Hi All

Probably been done before but could not fine in the search engine.

I have a 2000 Boxster S. I have just brought a new gear stick and following one of the previous threads on how to replace.

Problem is there is no grub screw on the old gear stick. How do I remove?

The shift knob pulls off - with some effort needed. Lower the top so you can kneel over the shift know and pull directly up. Try not to have your face directly over the shift knob....you don't want to hit your self in the face when the shift knob does come (suddenly) off.
