I have a 1999 996 C2. I ordered the parts for the brake job from Sunset Imports in Oregon and the part numbers for the front pads don't match what I asked for or what is in the DIY Instructions.

I requested part# 996-351-939-16 (per the DIY)

I received part# 996-352-949-02

I ordered all the other parts and they all match. I checked on a brake supply web site and they had the part number that Suncoast sent me as the correct part for my front brakes.

Can anyone confirm that these pads are indeed correct.

Thanks

Dan

Porsche changes part numbers monthly. It is next to impossible to keep the DIY pages up to date. Always ask for the latest parts as the Porsche PET program will list the replacement.

The parts Sunset Imports gave you are correct. The part numbers for front pads for a MY99-04 (as of June 28th, 2004) is 996 352 949 02.

Last year our local group made 3 DIYer DVDs. Of various projects.

Once in a while I get an email from somone who says why we did not give part numbers on the DVD.

Like Loren said, they keep changing the numbers.
