I am wondering has anyone purchased items from Vertexauto.com before and your experiences with them ? I am planning to purchase a pair of Carbon Fibre door sill and seems like the price listed is very reasonable.

Vertex out of Florida is Fine but watch out for a company with the same name out of Los Angles they sell rip off parts!

Read the description of the item, it says thas is a fibre carbon look, is an imitation, those are not carbon fiber door sill

Don't know if it appeals to you

but on ebay a few years ago I found a beautiful set of stainless door sill protectors that fit perfectly, installed via double sided tape in 2 minutes, and were available with the colored Porsche emblem. Shipped to me in a tube by a guy from somewhere like Richmond. Their quality was superb both in look and fit, the way the sill protector rolled over the two levels of surface in the sill and the finish of the edges. It absolutely looked like something that came from the factory.

I've seen the same guy advertising since. Not sure if it was recent.

I've ordered several items (Schnell short shifter, track pedals) from Vertex Auto in Fl. Great to buy from. Technical answers by phone and when there was a mistake in one of my orders they quickly resolved it (sent return UPS shipping label, just had to place the incorrect part in a box). Bought my items off eBay.

Did not go with Vertex ones, but went with the factory units in the pic. They run about $90 and fairly easy to install. They help to cover up a dent/scratches put on the driver sill by the dealer(Read: Ray Catena Porsche) who dropped the seat on it(tried to deny it) when attempting to fix the air bag light issue.

Hi, fyi, this person does still sell these sill plates. I know because I recently ordered and received them. Even though I haven't braved the 32 degree temperature in my garage to actually install them, and therefore cannot vouch for the fit yet, they are a really nice looking product. The seller is "sales4pnparts" and you can find his products at eBay Motors. There is another type he sells that has the Boxster logo on it -- I inquired about that but passed because the logo is a heavy grade vinyl and I figured it would eventually get scratched off. The one I actually bought was as Mike described, with the Porsche emblem attached to it.

The door sills on eBay are offered by Harvey the same gentleman that sells the upgraded rear speaker kit. Excellent product, very reasonably priced, recommend highly!

FWIW....I have Harvey's sill plates on my car as well, and they are great. They are 2 years old now and I have had zero problems. I actually liked the look of his Carerra sill plates a little better, mentioned it when I went to order my Boxster plates, and he made me up a set of those to fit my Boxster - no extra charge. Hell of a nice guy, Harvey.
