Does anyone have the 18inch High Polished wheel on their 996 facelift Carrera's? I would like to know if they look like chrome wheels in person? I do not like the way chrome looks, but have seen this Polished wheel on the 2004 996 40th Anniversary model and it seems to be less bright than a chrome wheel. Anyways I also wanted to know if anyone knew if the polished wheels by Porsche that came on the 40th 996 model are heavier than the normal alloy w/ silver finnish? Any feed back would be great, im thinking about making a purchase soon, but have not been able to see the wheels upclose, can someone tell me if they shine like a chrome wheel when the sun hits it, or they just glossy but dont shine as much. Thanks

no, i don't know the answer, but I share your opinion on chrome! Hate it. Love the silver powder coat or polish look a lot though. More classy/refined in my option.

I have a 40th edition and the rims are not as bright as chrome almost a stainless look. Pretty easy to keep clean. My understanding is they are shot blasted to get the finish that way.
