Hi!

I am planning to do a DIY replacement of my M030 suspension tomorrow morning and I just realised I have no idea how to reach the rear strut mounts. I read that it involved quite a lot of work but I am not sure which parts I need to remove to reach them. A quick scan of the workshop manual didn't help either.

If someone can point me to the right documentation, or give me some basic instructions I would really appreciated it. Otherwise I will replace the front struts and do the rest of the work next week.

Thanks,

Michael

Do a search here and on the DIY page. In the past I saw a post that walks you through how to do it on here with pictures. If I recall, you have to partially raise the top and then disconect the back of the top by releaseing the tie downs. That's probably not the best description. Take a look at this http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6967 I'm pretty sure this is how you gain access. Others will surely correct me if I'm wrong.

Open the soft top till the service possition is reached and pull off the retaining cables on the left and right rear quarter of the top. Lift the rear part with the glass straight ahead, remove the carpet and you will find the bolts of the struts under the isolation textile inside the car, above the rear wheels. Hope it helps.

Thank you very much for the info! At least now I know where to find them. I am sure it wont be too much trouble - a good DIY is always fun anyway.
