Hi all,

Came across this forum where many people have given great advice about Boxster roof issues so hoepfully someone will be able to advise me.

Just used my 986 for the first time in a while and as the sun was out thought I would drop the top. All went well and enjoyed that cold air on my face for the first time in a while.

Upon returning home raised the roof and waited for warning light to go out as per normal. Windows were part dropped and I engaged the latch and all seemed fine.

About 5 seconds later, just as I was getting out of the car the latch slipped and the roof moved back about 20mm. The windows dropped and will not go back up.

I can solve the window issue by putting my finger behind the latch and pressing the microswitch - windows go up and down again when I release the switch.

The problem is the latch handle seems jammed. I can't release it (ok I have not pulled on it as hard a I can) but I am afraid of snapping something. When I push the release button nothing happens.

So looking at the latch it is sitting out of it's holder but the handle release (where it says push) is still held firm.

Any ideas would be fantastic and I hope this makes sense!

All fixed.

Managed to pull back the roof from outside far enough to release the latch mechanism. Took a bit of effort but seems ok with the roof. Will test a few times and see what happens!
