Looking at an 01 TT tail & engine cover. Will it be a direct replacement for stock 99 engine cover, or is there more work involved?

Thanks

while the cover is the same size hole what you have to look at is the wide body of the tt vs the regular body and how the edges would hang. I have seen a regular body tt style spoiler somewhere

You really need to do a search on this topic.....I can't tell you how many times it has been asked here and on rennlist. I remember seeing that there are aftermarket companies that sell the TT look tail for the narrow body.

Can't tell you about the engine cover, but the TT rear bumper does actually fit on the narrowbody. It fits flush on the sides of the fenders, but extends out in back about 3/16. It is not flush with the body as it rounds the rear tail lights, but is flush with the engine cover. There are aftermarket TT rear bumpers that fit perfectly, and they are made out of fiberglass, while the factory TT bumper is poly. You also need new tail pipes, slightly different angles exhaust pipe because the TT tail pipes are closer together than the stock rear bumper, and a different heat shield that goes behind the bumper.
