I've an 05 987 with BOSE and a CDR24, but no PCM or Nav.

The AudioPilot thing is bothering me, I have it turned on, but it seems to do strange things with the volume, not always increasing it like I'd expect when the noise level goes up on the main roads, and not reducing it when I stop at the lights!

Sometimes I also notice the sound just drop out and then come back up (kinda like there's a loose connection or something, but I don't think there is).

I've read that you can configure the sensitivity of the AudioPilot (I know I can just turn it off, but I'd like to get it working 100%!), but as I don't have the navigation system I don't have access to all the menus to configure it. Is it possible to do so using a laptop or something?

I don't know about 987s, but my :censored: Audio Pilot doesn't seem to do anything. It is s'posed to be more of a sound conditioning device than the older speed dependent volume system which was fed by the speedometer.

My hearing, especially high freqs, isn't too good anyway.

I've gotten used to volume adjustment the old fashioned way. But I've also had no strange ghosts in the radio.

Audiopilot relies on a microphone in the steering column shroud to feedback the background noise inside the cabin. The Idea is that the volume and bass patterns are adjusted dynamically according to whether the hood is up or down. The micropgone feeds back directly into the bose amplifier. There are settings for the audiopliot that can be adjusted in the PCM menu, you need to try a few different configurations before finding what works best for you. I believe there is a configuration menu for the CDR units acessed by pressing certain buttons , otherwise its a trip to the local porsche dealer.
