Had a quote from my dealership for a speed yellow hardtop for $2708 ( 10% discount ) with $178 for labor installation. Is that reasonable or any other sources that I should be looking into? Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks.

Grab a used one off of eBay (anywhere from $100-$1500 depending on your timing.....be patient). Then have it painted according to your exterior color. All you need to make sure is that the interior of the top matches the interior color of your car and you are set.

There may be some additional pieces to make the Boxster "hardtop" ready if isn't already setup for a hartop acceptance. You will need to see what they are from somebody more knowledgeable about the parts required....like ToolPants.

If you did not have a hardtop before then you need to add the spin lock pieces to the car body. The two pieces plus the two bolts is about $80. If you know what you are doing, it takes less than an hour to install.

That price is high. A few months ago Brandywine had 10 new top on ebay for $1,500-1,800 depending on the color. Last year one of out local guys, Raman, bought one from them for $1,800. If you want to go with new then might might want to give them a call. It is Justin and I think Jay.

Also check ebay for used tops. The only pain is crating and shipping since it is bulky.

Check with your local Boxster owners. Some people with tops sell them because they do not use them. Then you do not have to deal with shipping.

You can repaint a top but it has to be taken apart to do it properly, so that adds to the cost.

We filmed the spinlock install and hardtop adjustment on Raman's car. It is not hard to do but it does take time to get it perfect.

Any idea where I can get instructions for this? My OPC wants £117 to fit my new hard top. I'm sure I could do it with a good following wind...
