I called Suncoast yesterday and asked them if the 997 CF X51 airbox would work on a 996. He said yes with a modification to the smog pump location (which they sell a bracket for.)

Has anyone done this on their 996? If so how did you fabricate the additional air opening in the engine cover?

To be honest I want it because it looks so cool........ :D

I know.... but it wouldn't be the first time I wasted my money lol! Actually I was interested in anyone's input that had done the X51 mod in their 996.

From what I have heard if you add the X51 airbox, headers and Throttle body (along with the X51 reprogramming to your DME) is does make the car perform better as far as throttle response, drivabillity ETC..

The only thing different to the factory 996 X51 would be the cams....
