Well guys, it looks like the time has come to upgrade my 996 C4S to a 997 Carrera S. I really liked the feel of the new car much better, and the PASM really makes the car much more livable. I am looking at buying an 08 model (as it seems the dealers are more anxious to get rid of them, read much better dealing). I have a question in regards to the clearance of the front bumper as compared to my 03 Carrera 4S. I have a fairly steep driveway that my 996 4S goes up with no problems. Is the Carrera S much lower? Any knowledge will, as always, be greatly appreciated.

Depending on the type of suspension on the 996, the 997 PASM could be lower. I would take the measurements on the front bumper in the deepest point of the driveway with the 996, and do the same thing with the 997 PASM, while you perform a test drive. Looks the best way to be sure of it.

Just make sure you take it out of the sport mode before you go up the incline.

yeah..those C4S's are total junk. I guess I could take if off you hands when you get your new one:) lol. JK. Congrats when you get the new model! I'm jealous:)

My '05 C2S can scrape the air dam, so I just have to go slower up driveways. However, I think it's flexible enough to weather the occasional contact. Having to go slow: that's what really hurts. . .
