My 04 CS has posted a CEL P0841. Had it checked at a Autozone store. They said it had something to do with the transmission (pressure switch??). My transmission has been working fine. Car has about 80k miles on it. Disconected the battery and error does not clear. Any ideals anyone? Do I need a Duremetric to clear this?

Thanks,

Scott

Yes, this is a Tipronic fault code - so I think the Durametric can clear it.

It indicated a jamming/sticking oil pressure circuit in the transmission.

When was the fluid changed?

At 60k miles the Transmission was serviced by the dealer for a faulty vaulve body when the trans was making hard shifts. I assume the trans fluid would have been changed during this time.

"assume" = bad word especially for shops - if it was not on the invoice (warranty or not) then it likely was not done.

Sounds like the same or similar problem.

Loren, according to the invoice the ATF was replaced along with a new filter and valve body by the dealership. The car had 67K miles on it at the time and now has 85K on it. Is the valve boby and the pressure switch all one assembly? I wonder if the parts and service are under warrenty. At the time when we had the dealer replace the valve body the car had really hard shifts but posted no errors on the dash. This time the car is shifting fine but has posted the p0841 error.

Regards,

Scott
