ticking noise

Ok, I have this ticking noise coming from the drivers side of the motor. You cannot hear it from the outside, just when you are sitting on the inside.

It does not tick at startup or when it is cold. It does not tick all the time. I usually hear it when I slow down and come to a stop light. If i rev the car up real quick, when it returns to idle it is gone, but sometimes it comes back and sometimes it does not.

It sounds exactly like a valve ticking, but I cannot figure it out. Its too intermittent.

Any ideas?

99 2.5 with 92000 miles

If it sounds like a valve noise then maybe it's a lifter starting to fail. What weight/type of oil are using?
