washer fliud low issue

Hi,

I am getting a washer fluid low indication but when I check the refill area in front it is full. When i try to use the washer the wipers turn on but no water comes out though I can hear the pump.

It has been extremely cold outside and we have been in freezing temps the last few weeks, was wondering if somehow the lower part of the water bottle might be frozen and hence the indicaton even though the reservoir is full, any ideas , suggestions?

This gets interesting, the temp finally rised to above 35 today inside the garge and I tried running the wipers again, now I get full water force on the normal wipers and than on the headlamp the driver side nozel jumps up and get full force there also but now the passenger side nozle no water is coming out or it does not jump out, wonder if still frozen that side.

also my light for refill water fluid still comes on even though there is water in the reservoir and also washer system working correctly even with only one nozle not spraying, any ideas :)

It is the water pressure that lifts the headlight washers so if one side isn't working it could still be frozen. It is usually the water in the pipes that freezes (in the UK anyway) as there is less volume, the light could be a faulty sender unit.

I have know this fault to occur if you use distilled water to fill the reservoir.

what i used was the bottle you get at the stores like rain x or turtle wax washer fluid.

Well was frozen as now everything has started working as the temp is around 35 and also the indicator for low level has gone off, I wonder why that had anything to do with certain areas being frozen.

Washer fluid diluted with water is OK, but the product RAIN X ( little yellow bottle ) is NOT Porsche approved for windscreen and/or headlight washer use, it can harm the polypropylene glass of the headlights. This kind of product is made for manual use.
