At least I THINK it's upside down, because the PCM says there's no CD in the player. Did a search, and learned that a solution is to remove the PCM fuse and replace it. Where is the fuse located, and will the entire PCM have to be reset? My car's an '05 C2S coupe with 6-speed. A detailed procedure would be helpful if possible. Thanks, and no remarks about the phantom rear wiper!

Might want to check the fuse diagram list that's attached to the fuse cover in the driver side footwell but in the earlier cars the PCM fuse was located on the back of the PCM which would require its removal.

According to the fuse diagram list, there is a fuse for the PCM, and it's in Row D, F9. The diagram says that it's supposed to be a 7.5 amp, but there's a 10 amp in its place. Anyway, since the diagram was a bit confusing to me at the time (it still kinda is, but that's for another topic), I didn't pull any fuses, replaced the cover and started the car. I hit the Eject button for yells, and out came the CD! And it WASN'T upside down! Actually, I hit the button as soon as the PCM screen lit up and before the Main came up, and hit the button again after it did. Maybe all it took was for the ignition to be off overnight (or even momentarily), and of course, for the CD to be right side up!

Glad to hear you solved the problem. Hope it was just a temporary gremlin.

It did it again, but I switched off the ignition, waited a few seconds, heard a gentle clunk from the PCM, turned the ignition back on, and the CD started playing the first track again. I ejected it and examined the disc for any flaws or dreck, but there wasn't any that I could see, so I re-inserted it, and it played with no problem. I'll try another CD to see if it occurs again, and if it does, I'll take it to a Porsche dealer, because I still have a month or two on the original factory warranty.

Press 148 to reset the PCM. Try this first.

That's good to know, especially if I ever DO insert a CD in upside down (I've been known to do dumber things...), but if I kill the ignition for a few seconds, the CD player resumes full function when I restart. I'm inclined to think that it's the CD itself, and the problem seems to arise when it repeats to the first track. I've tried another CD (they're all originals and not copies), and it repeated with no problem. If yet another CD has no problem, I may just wash the offending one with a mild detergent and try it again.

It's the CD. I have another of the same one in my home changer (I guess I really like that album!), and that one's been working without a hitch in the PCM.
