Hi,

I have a problem with my Boxster S (2003).

When I start the car the lights from ABS and PSM light up.

The dealer says that there is an error that says brake light problems???.

They checked the ABS pump and it was good.

Is there somebody who knows what this problem is?

Please let me know.

Thanks everyone.

Regards,

Reinoud (NL)

Most frequent causes are: brake light switch and/or faulty MAF.

Thanks for your answer!

The brake light switch was not the problem said the dealer

because they put on a spare.

And the problem was still there.

Is it possible to clean the MAF or is it always broken?

Strange thing is the error siad something about the brake light....

The other causes are more radical, try to snap the exact fault code(s).

The fault code is the brakelight switch.

They replaced it but the problem is still there.

When I say maybe it's the MAF they look very suprised.

The MAF/brake light switch/E-gas throttle/PSM/DME and more, have a common relationship under certain circumstances, a dealer with a PIWIS should know that.

Thanks again!!!

They gonna check the MAF.

Can they clean it or do they have to replace this part?

Take a look at POST #4, a PIWIS tester, fault code(s) and a knowledgeable tech. is all you need at this stage. Sorry.
