Hi,

Was a block heater an option on 05 CTT, or standard equipment? I've looked for a plug in the engine bay, but can't find one. It's suppose to go down to -29F tonight, and I wouldn't mind plugging her in.

Thanks in advance,

There is nothing from the factory that I have found. Stop in at your local VW dealer and look at the in-line heaters for the newest models. There are small in size and fit into the coolant hose for the oil cooler.

I've just found this product. It's an stick on type of oil pan heater and found it today on a '04 Touareg V8 so I would assume it would work for the Cayenne also.

ProHeat model 512 250 watts at 120v

1-800-221-4328

Hope this helps.

Thanks she started at -34C so I think I'm going to be OK. I didn't like the whistling sounds coming from the turbos though...

I'm surprised in that they winter tested them here (in Northern Alberta) but didn't feel a block heater was warranted....what you going to do.....

I'm in Calgary too, no she sits outside and started everyday this week. The only issue I had are the first real cold day the truck said the 4wd had an issue (which it didn't), I could barely turn the wheel due to the steering fluid being thick, and my front and rear park control were down due to dirt/snow/freezing.

Other than that it's worked well.
