Referring back to the post "kazoo" sound I am getting this sound a bit more regularly and have decided to see if the starter is the location of where my intermittent start-up squeel is coming from. Has anyone else dealt with this or replaced their starter before?

Thanks,

Craig

I think you will want to live with the noise for awhile as the starter hides under the intake manifold on the V8 engines. It's a few hours of labour to remove it.

And between $450 and $550 for the part

My 04S started doing the squeel on start about month ago, how long do you have before the starter goes? I dont mind the sound but dont want to be stuck somewhere not starting.

thanks

I have never seen this cause a no start/crank problem, the noise is just from a dry bushing in the bendix drive.
