Hi All,

Just picked up a 09 C2S last week and am loving the car.

I'm looking for the following information for a non-bose radio system:

1. Where is the amplifier located?

2. What is the pinout of it?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris:

1. Amplifier is located in the front trunk, above and to the rear of the spare tire.

2. Specify if yours is a 6X40W M490 Amp. It will say so on the sticker on the top or bottom of the amp.

Regards, Maurice.

Hi Maurice,

I looked in that area and can't find anything. Is it possible they moved it in the 09's or maybe if it's even part of the radio as it's new in the 09's?

Maybe i'm just looking in the wrong spot. I looked behind all the compartments in the trunk.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris:

Sorry, I misread your post as a "99" C2S. The 09's don't even have a spare tire. LOL!

I still think it's in the same area, but now it may be hidden by those panels that make a neat-looking black plastic coverall.

I'm sure someone else with an 09 or any of the recent vintages that don't have the spare will chime in and give you more specific information.

Regards, Maurice.

Look behind tools. See owners manual for location tools in front trunk.

With PCM3.0 and 2010 cars, Porsche took the decision to eliminate the trunk mounted amp in favour of an item mounted behind the PCM3.0 module - hence the empty space behind the tools. IMO this new "amp" is inferior to the old unit that used to be supplied with the sound package plus option (non Bose).
