I bought a '911 40th anniversary' wing from Carnewal, Belgium. It has 2 switch openings but when I went to put a blank tip switch (986 613 425 00 A01) in one of the openings I found that it does not really fit, it does not cover the opening :( sooooooo...

Will I have to put 'seat heater' switches in there? That's what normally goes in those spaces. I do not think there are 2 kinds of blanks.

Here's a picture of my new batwing:

Probably should be in the 996 forum. In any case, all tip switches are the same size, and the blanks are all the same size, so they shoulf fit properly. The problem may be that you are using a boxster part. In boxsters (at least the early ones) the tip switches were mounted on an angle, so perhaps the switches were slightly different. I will check in PET.

PET shows a part number of 996.552.425.00 for the blanks. Not sure if this is the gloss or the mat finish. I think you 2004 should be the mat finish

Thanks Dharn55, oh h*ll, I did end up in the 997 forum, I have a MY2000 Cabrio, oops! We use 'gloss' finish tip switches.
