Hi,

Just got a phonecall from Porsche where my wifes Cayenne is currently having its service. They let me know that all of a sudden the main display (in the center) went black. Could this perhaps have to do with the fact that there had the car on the PIWIS ore that they where doing something with the battery?

Hi Loren,

I agree with you but they said that they first need to analyse what caused it. I was just wondering whether something (PIWIS, Service reset) could lead to something like this?

Hard to say - using a PIWIS as intended should cause no harm.

I just believe that if it was working when you took it in they have an obligation to have it working when they give it back - and you should not be charged for it.

I have gotten the cayenne back today. The cluster is still black, but my wife needs the car tomorrow and they could not fix it yet. I have been searching the site and saw some posts regarding the lights of the display going bad. Question is.... if the licht is dead, do the warnings peeps (airbag deactivation) stillwork, because my airbag is deactivated and I do not hear any warning signal.

Regards,frank
