Has anyone ever had an occasional chemical /alcohol (possible power steering fluid) smell com from the air vents of their Cayenne? I have a 2004 S.

I had something I would call a chemical odor until I replaced the cabin air filter. The outgoing filter had the odor.

Dont know what it was.

The original owner had a problem with the battery leaking. It's under the drivers seat. The dealer replaced the battery and cleaned out the compartment. For a short time I was thinking it was a leaking battery. Very pungent scent

2004 S as well.

Thanks. I'll check the cabin filter. I just replaced the battery so I don't see an issue there. It is clearly through the vents when the A/C is on.

Leaking washer water ( or after using the washer/wipers ) can give this kind of smell, depends on the chemical composition of the additive, use only approved fluid for cars with airco.
