Hi,

I plan to upgrade my 2001 Boxster S stock 17" wheels with Carrera Classic 18"s. They are 18X8 et50 front, 18x10 et46 rear.

After looking all over the internet, found 5 places shown on the web showing they have them but when I called they all said they don't have them.

Now I'm considering 19"s because one of the internet store says they have them in stock. The sizes are 19x8 et57 front, 19x9.5 et46 rear. This store is located in LA, I called them inquiring about the frone offset of 57mm and they said it will fit the car without spacer.

I then called another store also located in LA which says a 5mm spacer is needed along with longer lug bolts. Both stores claim themselves as Porsche wheels experts however the information given is conflicted. If anybody has size 19" wheels on theirs 986s, please shed some lights.

Also if anybody has the pictures of 19"s on a 986, would you please post them, just want to see how a 19 will look on a 986.

Thanks in advance and your help is really appreciated.

In San Jose, this car belongs to some friends. I maintain it for them. These are 19's. I'm getting ready to slap 275's on it (they came with 265's)

Brad....Those are exactly the style (Carrera S) 19's that I want to put on my '01 Boxter S.

Can I use Carrera take-offs or replicas? What rear width and what offsets will work with or

without spacers?

Is that red car lowered?

Thanks,

John

Here is what I ended up with from Euro Wheels in Downey, CA (562-803-6700)

OEM quality Italian made Ruf style knockoffs on my 2001 986 S and they fit great!

Fronts: 19x8.5 with 225/35-19 Toyo Proxess-4 (50 mm offset)

Rears: . 19x10 with 265/30-19 Toyo Proxess-4 (47 mm offset)

They were asking $2099.00 + shipping (I live in Ohio) and I offerred $1900.00 shipped

which they readily accepted. Very nice center caps with colored Porsche crests included,

My car has not been lowered and the ride is 99.9% as good as with my stock 18's.

I am completely satisfied with these; the look, the fit and finish. Everything.

For those still interested in this. I have 19" wheels on my 98 boxster but I'm planning on swapping out the rears for 20's to get something a little beefier in the back.
