Cabin air filter 2005 Cayenne S

Hi,

Does anyone know if there's a cabin air filter for a 2005 Cayenne S, and if so, where is it located? I liked to change mine if I can locate it. Will post w/ pics if given the chance.

Under the glovebox...If I remember correctly, it was one screw to remove the cover under the glove box and then two little ones holding the filter in. It's pretty obvious where the filter is once you remove the main cover. Don't remember seeing any pictures on here but its only about a 5 min job. Good luck

Just use this forum to get at my cabin filter. Will add to this topic with some pictures:

"Porsche" brand filter... pretty well made

Bottom "hatch" removed with its foam seal. The two hex screws were not 5mm, 6mm nor 3/16" nor 1/4". It was between 5mm and 6mm, 5.5mm maybe... so who has a 5.5mm? Talk about making it difficult for a backyard mechanic. I took both screws off via a pair of pliers.

Bottom of passenger dashboard cover... One T15 screw holds it with two clips. Just pull down the cover after taking screw off.

Filter compartment with no filter inside.

Filter about 1/5 way into the compartment.

Two "horns" on the bottom cover that fit into "holes" for support of the piece (see below).

Support "mount".

The power connected back to the lighter sockets and light.

They are indeed 5.5 mm

A 7/32nd socket works just fine (equivalent to 5.7mm).

Since I hadn't actually investigated whether a 5.5mm socket was available, I offered the most common shade tree equivalent socket size to the 5.5mm (i.e., 7/32nd). :) Now I'm going to have to buy the correct-sized socket to have on hand for the next cabin filter change, because an off-size socket risks stripping the bolt edges.

Snap-on is probaly the best domestic tool supplier, but if we're going high end, we can go all the way with actual high-line European tools from either Facom and Hazet. Hazet is a German company and supplies many of the German auto manufacturers with their "factory" service tools. Facom, I believe, is a supplier of Ferrari tools and is a French company. Both also offer 5.5mm sockets, but obtaining them requires more leg work than than the domestic links posted above.
