My 04 CayenneS rear glass door kept poping open, so I changed the opening switch with a new one by myself as the dealer said it was caused my the micro switch but Its still happening, then I tried to solve the problem temporary by disconncecting the switch but it still trigger the warning sign and the interior lights go on.

Any input is appreciat !

Thanks

If the glass door switch is made in Germany, you got the right one. If the switch is made in France, they give you the bad one, take a look on the back side of the switch. If the switch looks OK there are other things to check, lock, wiring, button in drivers door , etc. your dealer can find it out with his PIWIS tester.

If I disconnect the swith and it still happening, does that mean the problem is not the switch ?

thanks

Correct, a disconnected switch is out of service, even on a Cayenne.

there are some issues with the glass lock, so like someone from here said if its not electrical is a mechanical one, the same here as far as I have discovered. so the part of the lock that is on the glass, you have to adjust it a little, when its closed it doesnt really grabs the lock on the rear door, so you have to try to pull it actually a little out, unscrew that a little and see what you get. dont forget before adjusting unscrew the big locking nut that is on the thread. you might consider using some blocking adhesives solutions for screws, to prevent unscrewing. this is what I have done, but at the beggining I have done what you did also, without any good resuls. still, if you have changed the switch with a newest one, german made, you have done a good thing to your car, cause what you had have some electrical issues along with the reported loosing covering cap(or how is called).
