Hello,

My 1998 Boxster 5 speed has an erratic cruise control and erratic left front blinker. Are they connected problems? The green cruise dash light always comes on but the cruise only sets itself once and a while and recently it took hold then released without warning. It just seems to set on some days and not on others.

My brake lights work, only a right rear fog lamp won't light up.

I have not checked the 2 clutch switches I have read about in the forum and will do that next.

I do have an erratic left front turn signal; sometimes it blinks, sometimes it "fast blinks". The bulb connector and wires have signs of repair but they have electrical resistance. I wondered if these 2 erratic electricals problems pointed to a steering hub connection problem ?

Any checks or next steps appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

Your Boxster only has one rear fog light, so the right hand one not coming on is not significant.

Erratic electricals are a sign of the ignition switch going. DIY here. A common problem.

Even though your brake lights are working, you might still want to check your brake light switch. There are two sets of contacts in the switch, (one normally open, and the other normally closed) and both are connected to the cruise actuator.
