I'm trying to find the emergency trunk release cable on a '08 997 C2S. I understand from the dealer that it is located behind the driver side wheel guard, which I've removed enough to fish around behind, but can someone give me a good description of what the cable looks like and where exactly to look for it? Thanks. -- Dan

Never mind. I located what seemed like it could be nothing else but the emergency release cable, took a deep breath, and pulled. The alarm sounded and the trunk popped open.

I don't know that anyone else could be so absent minded and oblivious as I that they would put both keys in the trunk and then manage to lock themselves out of the vehicle, but I'll put together a brief DIY just in case.

Hey, yer talkin' to the absent-minded king right here. I'm gonna take special note of your post, because that's JUST the thing I would do.

Absent minded is a lot better than being stupid. Good thing Porsche came up with a way to open the trunk when the car was locked. Of course you realize that now anyone who wants to get into to your locked trunk knows how to do it  Would store the good Scotch in the house from now on.
