Had my '99 2.5 in the auto body shop last week for some door ding repairs. The first two days I had it back the 'automatic up & down' feature would not work on the passenger side window, driver's side is OK. Operating the rocker switch manually worked fine. Opening and closing the windows via the door key worked also. As did the 1/4 inch window drop when opening the door from the outside.

Fast forward to day 3 and everything was back to normal. I'm going to let the shop know on Tuesday, just in case. I assume they removed the interior door panel during the repair. The battery had also been disconnected...

Any ideas? Haven't had any window issues prior to this..

Thanks

If the battery was disconnected the windows can act funny and one touch not work. After the battery is hooked up I run them up and down with the switch a few times to get one touch to work again.

I think Jeff has it.

I'm pretty sure the reason has to do with the window "remembering" where the limits of its travel are. For the "one-touch" to work, it has to know where the top and bottom of its travel. Cycling the window 2 or 3 times appears to sort things out.

I think the proper procedure to reset the one-touch windows is to run the window up, release the button, then press it for another second. I believe you will find this explained if you Read The Fine Manual. ;)
