I own two OEM Porsche hollow spoke wheels:

996 362 14211 with numbers under the part number: "Fr6200 N"

996 363 14203 with numbers under the part number: "Fr 5800 N"

Both are BBS stamped, and both are 18 x 11 w/45 offset.

I know the 996 362 14211 wheel is from a 2002-2005 tturbo porsche, AND I'VE been to the Porsche USA website [and a few parts managers], written to BBS [no response], to no avail: no one can locate the 996 362 14203 wheel ANYWHERE.

Before I mix and match I wanted to try to identify this one ..

* are they both the same weight ?

* ANY differences between the two ?

* where/when did this wheel come from ?

Anyone know of a good site to decode porsche oem part numbers ?

HELP [ARGGHH] and THANKS all !

:welcome:

996.362.142.11 Turbo 2 wheel, MY03-on, 11 J x 18, 45 mm offset

Perhaps you mean 996.362.142.03 Turbo 2 wheel, - MY02, 11 J x 18, 45 mm offset

996.362.142.11 replaced 996.362.142.03 so they should work equally well.

I done 3 searches through the database of parts and there are zero parts in Porsche's (sellable) parts database that begin with 996.362.

So, my guess is that is a sub assembly part number. We see that all the time on bumper parts.

Thanks Loren ! But what EXACTLY does "sub assembly" mean ? BTW, Thank you for your help. I've owned 911's since '85 [03 tturbo w/pccb and x50 @ present]...just trying to replace a nastily curbed rear wheel.
