I purchased a PSE kit from Brandywine, and received part # 000-044-200-21 BAY 3 EXHAUST SY.

The mounting studs on the bracket on the side of the muffler do not match the ones on the existing muffler. The single stud is farther apart from the other two studs. So, I put the mounting bracket from the original muffler on the PSE muffler and installed it only to find that the pipe that connects to the cat doesn't align.

Are there different kits for the 3.4 and 3.6?

Brandywines initial response is *Not to our knowledge*.

Help!

By the way Loren's DIY instructions are perfect.

I too ordered mine from them. My reciept shows part number 000 044 200 19 "US Sport Exhaust" which the Teq911 book says if from 8/1 but what I undestadn that the PSE fits ALL years (there is one part number currently....above).

BTW, I have the C2CABMY00 3.4L

I have since found that the "19" you speak of is for cars up to 07/01, and that the kit I received is the "21" for cars built after 07/01.

Brandywine says the 19 has been superceded by the 21 and that the 19 is no longer available, and that they are installing 21's on 3.4's. I don't know that I believe that.

One of my local dealers has a 19 in stock, and I'm trying to get them to swap it out.

Conclusions:

The 21 indeed has superceded the 19, and can in fact be installed on the 3.4. Took me about 90 minutes. You must take the mounting plate from the stock muffler and install on the PSE muffler. Then you must bend the inlet pipe to mate to the cat pipe. The inlet has a "bellows" to enable adjustments.

Good to note Kevin.......This is the exact reason I paid the $100 to the local dealer so they would do any mods necessary and keep me from throwing sockets across the garage :)

Odd... I've installed a half dozen or so of these (all versions) and the PSE always came with mounting brackets. I also never had to bend any of the exhaust tubes (even though they can be).
