Hi friends, have some 2008 seats (going into my 2005 997). Haven't started to unbolt and replace yet. The person these were purchased from wasn't aware of the missing tilt switch when they arrived. Here's a pic of the tilt switch. The switch itself is almost flush with the seat and not sure if the lever is broken. Can someone confirm if the switch appears broken?

If it needs replacing, what is the process to swap out and install another one?

Thanks,

The switch looks OK, but the button is not available separately IMHO. You can buy a new switch and only use the button or replace the complete switch after removing the side trim ( only some screws and the up/down lever )

Hi RFM, should I wait to get the new switch and install while the seats are out, or can I mount the seats then take off the trim and screws out later?

Thanks a lot,

It's a lot easier with the seats out of the car to change the complete switch, to replace the button only, the seat can stay in place.
