ok guys ive done the search etc on this which there are a few

only in the last few weeks the remote wont unlock the car.. changed battery of course no difference !

car doers get left for over 5 days sometimes... i have tryed the reset/sync methods also mentioned here, no avail !

what is strange is that the central locking works fione from key and button on dash, i noticed the lock comes on when i start, then i can unlock it and next time doesnt i assume im resetting auto lock features maybe ?????

when i do the triple key twist it beeps once at the end of that - what does that mean... it doesnt do that when you twist key once and lock it.. can you explain what this is doing.....

i thought it only bleeped when centre console was open or would a faulty contact stop key remote working ????

also dealer said keys on my 99 c2 cab cant be reprogrammed you have to get new key ? is that right ?

look forward to seeing whats what to some of this :)

You need the fault codes to have an idea what precisely is wrong whit the system, any way the key can reprogrammed ( or try to do ) if you still have the digit code label.

I had a similar thing on a '99 cab. The key had a very slow intermittent flash whereas before it stopped working it had a fast intermitent flash. Like you , I could unlock the door with the key. Something within the fob had died. I had a spare key which had never worked. Neither of the keys the dealer said could be reprogrammed. I had to order 2 new keys whic cost me £240 (uk pounds). On the upside the old remote was getting weaker before it stopped working and it became an art to lock the doors by pointing it in a certain direction, My girlfriend could never lock it. Once I had the new remotes, it would lock from a distance, so although expensive to replace, if you are finding your old keys are becominng a pain in the arse, replacing them solves the problem!
