I'm trying to remove my 1987 Boxster manual transmission. It seems like whoever assembled the engine/transmission assembly really super torqued the bolts. I have had to use an 18 inch cheater bar on my 1/2 inch drive breaker bar just to loosen the hex head bolts attaching the transmission to the engine block. I am now down to the torx head bolt at the lower left side. It it also super tight and now the torx head is stripped. I have an air grinder with which I plan to use to cut the torx head off. I would then use a pipe wrench to remove the remaining shaft and threads once the tranny is removed. Is this the right way to go or does anyone else have a better way to go? Is this a usual problem or am I just the lucky one? Any help would be appreciated.
