how did u know it was a 99?!? =O
I looked at your profile.

A MY99 C2 is not egas so you have an idle control valve.

Chances are this needs cleaning or the solenoid is bad and it needs replacing.

Either way you should remove it clean it (and the throttle body while you are there).

This process has been documented here many times so please do a search if you need details

I was wondering about that too. I assume you have to take the throttle body off (the four bolts), to get to it. I tried removing the idle control valve 'in position' but couldn't get a good angle on the rear torx screw so aborted since I didn't want to destroy the screw. I think my idle control valve is faulty too.

There are just two Torx (or allen) screws and an electrical connection on the idle control valve. Be careful of the paper gasket when you take it off - so you can reuse it.

Cleaning the IAC valve is very very very easy. Definite DIY and helped my (now deceased) engine's idle immensely.

i'm hoping this wil fix my engine woes, can anyone show me a picture of the IAC valve so i can know what i'm looking for?

Have you tried our Search?

I searched for ICV and got over 40 results - some with pics, including the following thread.

Idle Air Control Valve - how is it supposed to look?

Purchase CRC Throttle Body and Air Intake Cleaner and go to the DIY section and see how its done. I did this to mine . . . cleaned out the sludge, etc. This is a great place to be for all DIY's.
