Driving the Boxster is great fun, but sometimes, strange things are happening inside the car...

When i drive fast on bad and bumpy roads and the car gets back a hard hit from the road, both side windows are going down just the same way (as if i would open the softtop). Then, you can not close the windows. You can only open them complete, but you can not close them. Then i stopped the car, turned of the ignition, started the car again, but still the same problem.

Then i opened the softtop a little bit and closed the top. After that, the windows worked fine.

Looks like a probleme with the switch of the softtop. What needs to be done?

Thanks, Simon2

It is indeed the switch/hook combination, you can stick a small rubber on the hook to have more pressure, or replace the switch.

Thanks RFM! I took a look at the switch hook 5 minutes ago and think i will try to "repair" it with a piece of rubber tomorrow and see if it works...

Had the same problem.....If you didnt fix it already.....I removed the latch plate and the small pressure clips had slipped and the switch plate would move up and send the windows down. Reset the switch and clips and all is better. 5 minute fix.
