Hello,

I got a flat tire today and when I tried to put the spare tire on the key to my wheel locks broke in half. The key does not have a number on it and I could not find anything in the owners manual that would help. I went to the local dealer to try and match up one of their 30 keys to my broken key - and after an hour of trying I gave up.

Is there a way to find out the key code from my VIN number? My only other option is to use a can of fix a flat and drive the car to the dealer (about 30 miles away). Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a sticker on the car the lists the code to the wheel lock key?

One of the 30 should be a match if you have the original locking bolts. Too bad you did not have your car there to try and match it that way.

Take a look at your option sticker and see if the code is written there. When a new car is prepped some mechanics write the code on the sticker so when it is later service and a wheel needs to be removed they can get it from the master set.

The key originally came in a plastic bag with the code on a sticker. Good luck trying to find it on an 8 year old car.

Can't get the code from the VIN.

Maybe have it welded back together?
