Can a porsche nav system be retrofitted into a 99 Carrera 4?

I tried to search the forums but could not find any answers on this topic - so I apologize if this has been covered many times. If possible I'd like to retrofit the porsche nav system to my 1999 Carrera 4 - can it be done?

MY 99 is equipped with PCM 1, the information and maps are so moderate that a good after market unit will give you more satisfaction IMHO.

I think even google wants to prevent you from wasting money...Google avic d1 if you want an in dash nav that performs well at a very moderate price

I have a PCM head unit for sale, but I'm in Portugal, may be prohibitive due to freight, customs, etc.
