MY '97 Boxster, 19,000 miles, bone stock.

At 17,000 miles, I was getting misfires and lots of codes, and momentary loss of power between 4500-5000 rpm. Replaced MAF and the problems went away.

Also preventively replaced the old style AOS with the new style.

Now, I've been getting (and resetting) a check engine light for about the last 500 miles or so.

At first, only had P1121 code. I reset it and it comes back after about 20 miles or so.

Then, within the last 200 miles or so, I've been still getting P1121, but then started getting a "pending" P1117 code.

In the last 100 miles, I am now still getting P1121 and a new code, P0160, with P1117 still pending. This has now happened twice in the last 40 miles or so.

Car runs fine, but I'd love to drive my car with no lights on for a change.

Any ideas?

Agree with juniinc, if the wiring looks OK, hook up a diagnostic tool in actual values mode, O2 sensors check voltage and pending Lambda values ( P0160 )

Do you have a step-by-step procedure for checking the voltage, etc... I have a Durametric unit and a multimeter but I'm electrically challenged.

Also, is the indication for the 02 sensors after the catalytic converter on both banks or just one side?

I'm not confident with Durametric but if you can catch actual values mode, select the O2 sensors, watch the Lambda values and the voltage, the have to pending ( engine hot and idling ). If the sensor(s) stay stick on one value and voltage, the sensor or wiring is defective ( P 0160 ) P 1121 is the heating on the same sensor, P 1117 is the heating on a different sensor ( b 2 ). Usually the wiring is OK, sometimes bad contact in the connector, mostly the sensor defective.

an OHM meter should be able to tell it all,,,

Do you mean that I should use the ohmeter to verify that none of the leads of the 02 sensors don't have any internal breaks?
