Hi all,

Just joined today to solve a problem with my top.

After reading many closely related problems in this forum and taking all the advice I have now sorted my top dilemma (wasn't retracting although windows were dropping).

I checked the brake switch... all fine, took out the convertible relay and gave it a whack. Eventually traced the problem to a loose connection on the roof mounted microswitch. A quick adjustment and all is fine!! Didn't even have to post!!

Thanks again for (sort of) solving this.

I like the look of this site though.... think I might hang around a while. B)

Jamie:

:clapping: and :welcome: !

If you learned any tricks while doing your repair, please be sure to share the details.

Regards, Maurice.

Not really a trick and probably one which some of you have performed before.

Another problem I had with the roof microswitch was that the 'cushion' had come free and got lost resulting in no contact with the second switch... windows would not raise. Got over it sort term by whacking a bit of card in the gap. However, when I took the switch apart to fix the short, I solved this by cutting the shape from a mouse pad and superglued this in place. Problem solved! :)
