I'm new to this and tried to post this earlier, not sure if it worked. I may have posted in the wrong topic, sorry. I have a 2003 996TT iptronic and it came with a GAIC flashloader. Does anyone have any experience with this device? Also, I want to contact them directly but have been unable to locate a phone number. I've sent a couple of emails but haven't gotten a reply.

On another note, what are your thoughts on the Durametric scanner?

Thanks for the help

I have a durametric, and it has been useful, as I identified a few Check Engine Lights that came on, and it allowed me to reset them. I had an MAF go bad, and it is being replaced. However, if you don't plan to do the work your self, I'm not sure if you will get the benefit from it.

You should be able to do a Google search for GIAC and get a dealer or tuner in your area....or if not, get to some pretty knowledgeable folks. The fellow who wrote the program for GIAC is virtually unreachable, but his distributors and installers are readily accessible...I'm surprised you couldn't find a reference or contact number with an internet search.

Thanks, I finally got someone from GAIC to respond via email. We are communicating but he has been very reluctant to give me a phone number. There isn't a dealer in my area, Mississippi, but I have located a few in TX and GA. I'll give them a call and see whats what.

Thanks again for the reply.

My local dealership has one porsche mechanic and I'm not sure he is an enthusiast, rather a 7 to 4 wrench puller. I most likely will be doing some of the work myself. I've ordered the scanner, it should be here Friday. I appreciate your response.

I used to have the GIAC loader and I have the durametric software. The durametric will pay for itself quite quickly....You will eventually get codes. You are welcome to pm me if you need assistance using the GIAC loader.
