hey guys im a new owner to a 01 996 turbo and need an answer . i bought a new radio and it is asking for the speedometer signal wire to the speedometer and the tachometer signal wire i need to tap into those for the radio. it has this speed dyno function on it . thanks guys and please email me the info at afm998@aol.com

I am perplexed as to why a radio would need the tach wire...

thanks loren is that the wire grey with pink strip on which connctor ? there are three connectors on the back of the speedometer grey green and blue? i think those are the colors not 100% sure on those colors tho

You should have a grey wire with a pink tracer going to the black plug on the radio which is the speedometer signal that Loren refers to. Not sure about the tachometer signal, or why.

Edit: Porsche refer to this speed signal as "Tacho A" on the wiring diagram. Maybe that's what your aftermarket radio is looking for.
