Hey Guys,

recently on the weekend my car started acting wierd and its scarring the crap outta me!!!

Here are the facts;

its a 99 C2 with 93,000miles. the only mod is an intake which has been on the car for a while now, so I doubt thats the problem.

The car is making a rather obvious ticking/clicking sound, and it sounds like its coming from the engine compartment in the back. ALSO, once the car is warm the idle starts to get erratic ( it will drop to 600rpm the oil light wil come on then the idle shoots up to 1300rpm) but it never stalls.

I never had this problem before and the car ran GREAT before this started to happen all of a sudden, I can't think of what may have caused this??

What the heck is wrong with the car? Before I bring it in to the dealership, I'd like to know what I'm up against.

thanks

Is it possible that its a bad coil?

If it were a bad coil you should get a CEL.

Have you cleaned the throttle body? (the process is described here elsewhere)

Or checked and cleaned the idle control valve?

I would start there and also get your OBD II read for any fault codes.
