I have a 04 Boxster that i wouldlike to move the CC down to the last position (just above the shifter) and i would like to install a cubby bin where the orignal CC was. I know i need a trim piece to install the CC down low, as well as a cubby that is NOT tapered.

Can this be done (I have read wires might be too short?)

What are the EXACT peices i will need to do this DIY?

Where can i get them?

Heres a pic of waht mine looks like now..

I really want to make sure that i get the correct parts...

THANK YOU!

Moving the a/c display down to just above the bat wing has been going on for years. Search under "cupholderectomy." The wires are long enough to move it around.

The question is, on your 2004 or a 2003 for that matter, what can you put in to replace the a/c display in the old location. This was asked 3 weeks ago.

The guy in the link had a problem with a storage bin in the old a/c position, but he said it looked like the two single DIN trim had been modified to a double DIN. What that means to me is that the cross bar was removed to create a double DIN space. In the pic you see the cross bar just above the numbers.

So the question if you can put in a storage bin just above the radio, where the a/c display use to be, is still an open question. I have never seen a storage bin just above th radio. But whenever I say never someone figures out a way.

difficult to to,,,

storage bin is same size as the single DIN, on the pic above U will notice CC opening is slightly bigger.

it is hard to mount the storage bin up there, prolly have to modify the trim piece for the surrounded gap
