Hello all. I just purchased a 2002 silver Turbo 6speed :jump: . This is my 2nd 911T (3rd Porsche). I look forward to spending alota time here ;) .

Now I do have a slight problem I need some advice on. The check engine light came on soon after I drove off. I test drove it a couple weeks before; and it drove fine (no light), did not hesitate or idle erratic. I went back and they got a misfire code (not sure which one), so they said drive it home and if the light reappeared to come back. On the way home, it lit up a few times but went away; then about an hour in to the drive it came on permanently. It still ran/runs good with the light, I can't detect a problem. The dealer said it is likely a plug or wire and to try fuel system cleaner in it to see if it clears. If not, they will take it back and address it. Any info would be appreciated :) .

It could be a perfomance chip in the car and that could be turning the lights on and off..I had one in my car that did the same thing so I changed it to a piggy back system like unichip.

If it has one than its nothing to be concerned about, the overall perfomance of the car outweighs the nusiance light..

Dealers always like to talk you into the simple fixes....like drive it and see what happens....or put some injector cleaner in it an drive it.....hoping it will go away without having to do anything.....could be a MAF which they would have to take care of since you just got it. Get the codes read...and don't let them keep telling you to drive it to see if it goes away. Diagnosis is THEIR problem, not yours.

If this was my Land Rover, I would say check the gas cap. A check engine light happens when the cap doesn't get screwed on all the way. Make sure it is screwed on with 3 clicks. Drive it awhile and the code clears. In the the LAnd Rover its about 25 starts of the ingition.

There is the chance I have no idea what I'm talking about!

I went to AutoZone to get the code. It is registering a P0300 - 304, 305, 306. Plugs I'm told? I'm also going to clean my MAF today or tomorrow. How much would/should plugs be? I want to have it done local and have the out-of-state dealer pay for it.
