I'm new to this forum and i thank yo in advance for your patience and wealth of KNOWLEDGE! I have a silver cluster that i bought and i'm gonna swapp out the old cluster for the new silver one...Now i understand that the odomter will show the new milage not the original reading...My question is simple? Can you remove just the odometer portion of the 2 clusters and just swap them out, and #2 If this CANNOT be done, can the Dealer with the PS2 adjust the odometer...

YOU GUYS AND GIRLS ARE AWESOME!!! :D

Dealers can adjust the odometer restricted, with the PIWIS, from for example 000.110 Km to 000.000 Km. and vice versa. He can try to read out the old cluster, and read in the the spare one with the obtained data.

#1. I don't know. It has mentioned here before as an alternative to programming a used instrument cluster. I haven't seen a subsequent DIY.

#2. If the instrument cluster is new "out of the box", it can be programmed with your cars actual mileage using a PST2 / PIWIS. If the replacement instrument cluster is indicating more than approximately 60-62 miles (100km) it can not be programmed, it has to be sent to a VDO speedometer shop where the technicians can program your cars mileage. I would expect to pay in the neighborhood of $150 for the service - plus shipping.
